Succumbing to the Akri madness

The state of my mind as of today.

Frustration, anxiety, impossible expectations, isolation and loneliness. If I turned into one of these creatures, honestly would probably succumb to the Akri madness. Let the Akri have its way, and the world shall burn and be torn apart.

- Huh, is this a six limb dragon? Which flies? Just continuing my adventure contriving big flying beasts who hopefully have some chance against fantasy creatures' most dire enemy: real world physics. He doesn't have six limbs, rather he is a derivative of the Draco Lizard, which evolved gliding by modified ribs.

- I just kind of pondered about quadrupedal takeoff, trying to capture an essential moment of it. I imagine wyverns of similar build often taking off by a short run to gain some speed, then using their wing-arms to launch themselves, assisting with their hind legs if those are sufficiently powerful for this.

- I wandered around somewhat aimlessly on Youtube recently, and happened to stumble upon something exceptional, something which I wouldn't expect to exists. I like much fantasy creatures, especially dragons, and here I happened to find three very good pieces of animated short movies featuring them! Not even just at CGI, these even offer quite original ideas, so all in all, they definitely worth some attention - and not even just such a limited-time attention like typical shorts.

- This old panther-alike was intended to be the main character portrait of the game idea which later grew to be Cheetaan Legacy (Which is still in a galaxy far-far away...). Medicore color selection with rather medicore art quality, later I got to improve in both aspects.

- An image from (or for) the planned game Cheetaan Legacy, portraying one of the races (Shiriat / Cyat) at one of their typical environments. The image itself is not bad, but a little sloppy. For one it is that for a comment from a friend I started to study a little more how railway equipment looks from different angles, and I got the bogies wrong, just too flat. The other part is that probably I could do much better now at the portraits. So this is rather just an experiment which in this form will never make into the game (If ever).

- Pencil sketch on some A/5 leaf. Well, this is really on "some" A/5 leaf, although this is not as bad as some other such old pieces of mine. This was just on some thin paper with a triangle grid on it's back which would show through no matter what arcane thing you do with your scanner.

- A nice big reference for the Tani Akri, the dragon of the Cheetaan showing off some anatomical features. At last something which could probably really fly with wyvern as base.

- The 15th March is special in Hungary, we would be celebrating the anniversary of an important uprising, one against the Hapsburg dynasty demanding more autonomy for our country within their empire. It was the pinnacle of the age of reformation, but one which later got usurped like all the other movements happening in that year. Then, today... It seems like people here lost all their sanity siding with an oppressive government and very few caring of any movement which tries any reformation.

- Yet another wyvern design aiming for realistic capability of flight and a dragonlike appearance, a controversial beauty. She has no direct relation to the gold wyverns of Outbreak to the Sky, although those were one inspiration source to design her.

- The wyverns stirred my imagination further resulting in another writing, this time using a conventional medieval setting. Nothing exceptional, just practicing forming stories and some English language grammar, but I hope nothing short of pleasant entertainment either. Except lots of interesting interactions with wyverns in this one!

- Just having some fun with doodling. A Shiriat riding a Cyat, racing with a train. The species are from the Cheetaan Legacy universe. So I finally decided to stop being such a scrooge I am, and embarked on an adventure to get myself a digitizing pad.

- First time I did a reference sheet. I plan to use this dragon later (maybe in comic), so I need to get his proportions right and consistent. His anatomy is roughly similar to that of the Tani Akri (the dragon from the Cheetaan universe). An interesting property is how his arms have just the right length so he can walk around naturally (he doesn't need to crouch like usual quadruped wyvern designs), while his wingspan I think is quite sufficient for flight.

- Probably one of the most condensed scenery possible on the cheetaan homeworld before the wars. A huge gas-giant, exomoons, a gargantuan creature resembling a tiger, a cheetah riding a feathered wyvern over crystalline buildings scattered in a swamp, anything missing?

- The Tani Akri, the dragon in the Cheetaan universe living primarily on the south pole of their planet. After many years I start to become somewhat content with their look and feel.
